There is so much BS available about online trading that I decided to create a website to help inexperienced traders navigate the jungle of misinformation and expensive online courses that really won’t help. There is no course you can study that will guarantee success and the only people that make money from courses, systems and shortcuts to trading riches are the mostly failed traders that create them.
There is only one way to learn whether online trading offers a way for you to make money (it’s not for everyone) and that is to do it. Yes, you need to gain experience, learning by your own mistakes and decide whether it is for you. But I do not advocate opening a broker account with your own money to start your education, nor do I recommend using a SIM trading account offered by brokers (there is no emotion attached to SIM money).
There is a much better alternative – prop trading firms. Rather than giving some random “guru” $000s, you can invest a few dollars in your own practical first-hand education and trade using an evaluation/challenge account from one or more proprietary ‘prop’ trading firms. It may not be much money you invest but you still don’t want to lose it and pay again, so there will be emotion attached to your trades and this is the best, and cheapest way to gain the valuable experience you need.
Some of the jargon may be unfamiliar at first but we have that covered. In order to become a profitable trader you will also need to develop your own system, one that makes sense to you. Without a system you are gambling. There is a ton of free information out there and we will point you in the direction of some trusted resources. DO NOT PAY for ‘guru’ training programs, trade alerts, foolproof systems or shortcuts of any kind.
I’m still learning but I’m lucky to have a friend with over 7 years experience to guide me and to make sure that I only pass along solid information to you.
I have also started a YouTube channel ‘Index Futures Prop Trader‘ where I will upload videos to accompany reviews, articles and posts on this site. It’s early days yet but soon I hope this will become the ultimate resource to help you sort through the jungle of futures trading with prop firms.
